I know it has been too long since I sent out an email.  I am sorry about that.  I like keeping in touch with my friends via this email message.  It is interesting to ponder the fact that there are some of you who get my newsletter whom I have yet to meet, and others of you with whom I have spent several visits.  I hope that these messages are fun to receive and not boring.  Though I suppose if they were boring you'd take yourself off the list.

 

So, my life is going along nicely.  I have lots of family time and am enjoying spending time with my daughter and grandchildren.  I have been reading some good books.  I really like Augustin Burroughs.  He writes memoirs about his strange childhood (his mother basically gave him to her psychiatrist when he was 12) and his struggles as an adult.  I have plans to write some memoirs of my own so it is helpful to see how others do it.

 

Toward that end I am going to start a class on turning memory into memoir.  It starts next week and I am excited about it.  Being in a class will give me deadlines to meet and someone to give me pointers on my writing.  It is being taught by a writer named Ariel Gore who is a published author and seems to be an interesting woman.

 

I am wondering where Summer is since it is June 11th and still cold/cloudy and rainy outside most days.  I heard there was snow on Mt. Hood and in the passes yesterday.  I keep telling myself that it will be warm by July and when Summer does arrive it will be sweet and warm (like me ; )

 

Anyway, take care of yourself and come and visit me when you can.  Oh yes, I have a few new pictures on my web site (both in the public and private galleries).
